coolchilli.com goes Drupal!

It's about time. The coolchilli.com site has been neglected for years. We've been too busy playing with all the other fun IT toys to spend the time that was needed to update the site.

Fortunately, thanks to a recommendation by Justin from Agileware, we now have a nice, shiny Drupal powered website. Thanks Justin! Those guys live inside Drupal and produce some extremely slick results.

Drupal is an open source Content Management System for websites. Using themes and web-driven configuration, we have been able to rapidly setup and publish a new website, spending our time writing the text you're reading, rather than mucking around trying to make the layout work with html tags .

We're very impressed with what Drupal can do. As a part of the FOSSACT (www.fossact.org.au) series of meetings, a shootout was had between Plone and Drupal. It was a very interesting session, seeing these great CMS systems side-by-side. It was agreed by all that Plone provides excellent Work Flow facilities with it's object-oriented content and draft/publishing/approval methodology, while Drupal allows for some terrificly simple customisation and absolute ease in creating simple database applications online.
